Grosset Nereus 2022
Jeff Grosset is particularly delighted that, as expected, the Tahbilk clones of shiraz are showing greater depth of flavour and better balanced tannins as the vines age. The 2022 'Nereus' - still a blend of shiraz with ten per cent nero d'Avola - has bold, ripe and succulent texture that is fresh and lively, dense and powerful, with blackberry, mulberry and blackcurrant flavours in the mid-palate and a finish that is intense and long. It is generous and fleshy, ripe and full-flavoured and so delicious.
Estate grown at Grosset Rockwood Vineyard in the Clare Valley (A-Grade Certified Organic and Biodynamic) the wine is matured in French oak barriques (45% new) for 18 months.
Unfined: suitable for vegans and vegetarians

Grosset Nereus 2021
Grosset Nereus is inspired by the classic Sicilian combination of grape varieties, shiraz and nero d'avola. Rarely blended in Australia, it has taken five vintages to establish the ‘Nereus style’.
Originally intended as a weighty shiraz with a brightness and more linear palate coming from the nero d’avola, this 2021 vintage is confirmation that succulence, silkiness and drinkability are achievable as a medium-bodied wine. While unexpected, the result is wonderfully appealing.
In 2021, Grosset Nereus has quietly briary aromatics which give it definition. There are succulent blackberry bramble flavours and a slinky silkiness on the mid-palate. It has attractive intensity and a finish that is smooth and gently lingering.
